I was born and raised in the beautifull outport of Boyd's Cove,Notre Dame Bay,Newfoundland,Canada.I'm presently a resident of Gander,Newfoundland.Canada.
My greatest influence in music was my Father. When I was just a young lad,my Father bought me a guitar and encouraged me to learn how to play, and accompany him on the accordion while he played for square dancing that was held in the old school house. My greatest inspiration in song writing and singing was the late Hank Williams,Gordon Lightfoot and Stu Philips. The very first song that I performed was recorded by Stu Philips. It was titled,The Blue Canadian Rockies.
In 1971 i was transferred by my employer to Happy Valley-Goose Bay,Labrador.Labrador was a great place to be for a country musicians and singers. There was lots of work for country bands in the many night clubs on the American Base and the town of Happy Valley.I held on to my regular job and used my music as a part-time job. While living there,i played with such country bands as the Northern Lights,Country Friends,Legion Airs and The Western Five.
I wish the best of health and happiness to all that supported my music over the many years.
